How to Wash Polyester?

polyester

Washing polyester is relatively simple because polyester is a durable and low-maintenance synthetic material. Polyester fabrics are popular for their resistance to shrinking, wrinkling, and quick drying, making them an ideal choice for sports and everyday clothing. However, it is crucial to follow the correct washing procedure to maintain the fabric's quality.

Polyester can be washed in a washing machine at temperatures around 30 °C to 40 °C. Higher temperatures could damage the fibres or cause colour fading, so it is advisable to stick to the recommendations on the clothing label.

Choose a gentle washing cycle or a program designed for washing synthetics with lower spin speeds to avoid unnecessary wear on the fabric. These cycles are gentle on the fibres and ensure a longer lifespan for polyester garments.

Use a regular laundry detergent, but avoid overly harsh chemicals or bleach that could cause colour fading or weaken the fibres. Fabric softener is not necessary because polyester is naturally resistant to static cling and soft to the touch.

How to Dry Polyester?

Polyester fabrics dry very quickly, so it's best to air dry them. If you are using a tumble dryer, select a low temperature or a synthetic program. High temperatures can cause shrinking or distortion of the material.
