How to Wash Merino Wool Correctly?

Merino wool

Merino wool is known for its softness and exceptional properties, such as breathability and temperature regulation. To maintain these qualities, it is important to wash merino correctly.

How to Wash Merino?

Merino wool is delicate and sensitive to heat and friction. When washing, follow these guidelines:

  1. Wash merino wool only when the clothing is truly dirty.
  2. Use a detergent designed for wool or delicate fabrics. Avoid detergents with enzymes and bleach.
  3. Wash merino clothing at 30 °C or according to the recommendations on the label.
  4. Use a gentle washing cycle or a program designed for wool.

How to Wash Merino Wool?

  1. Before washing, turn merino clothing inside out.
  2. If you want to be extra careful, you can hand wash merino wool. Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a detergent for wool. Gently swish the clothing in the water, avoiding rubbing. Rinse the clothing thoroughly in clean, lukewarm water to remove any detergent residue.
  3. Never dry merino clothing in a tumble dryer. After washing, gently press out excess water without wringing, which can be done by wrapping it in a towel. Then, lay the merino clothing flat on a dry towel and allow it to dry at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat.
