How to Remove Wax from Clothes?

Removing wax from clothing can be challenging but with the right steps it is possible to achieve a clean result without damaging the fabric.

The first step is to let the wax harden; the fastest way to do this is to put your clothes in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Then gently scrape off the hardened wax with a dull knife or card to remove as much wax as possible without damaging the material.

Followed by the use of a paper napkin or a clean cotton cloth. Place it on the wax spot and run a warm iron over it. The heat will cause the remaining wax to melt and penetrate the napkin or cloth. Repeat the process until the wax is completely removed.

If a greasy stain remains on the clothes after removing the wax, apply a stain remover or a small amount of liquid detergent and leave it on for a few minutes. Then wash the clothes according to the instructions on the label.

Before drying, make sure the stain is completely gone so that the heat from the dryer doesn't fix the wax residue. For delicate fabrics or expensive pieces, consider professional cleaning.
